Cyclone Relief to Southern Malawi, April 2023

Feeding the victims

Cyclone Freddy was the longest-lasting tropical cyclone ever recorded, lasting more than a month.  After causing havoc in Madagascar, it hit the coast of Mozambique, turned around to seemingly get lost in the Indian Ocean, then turned around again to hit Mozambique twice.  Some of the worst damage was felt in Southern Malawi with loss of life and many houses lost in the floods, as well as the loss of crops for a whole year from a population that heavily depends on the once-a-year harvest for daily food.  This report is from Enesia, one of the leading Wheresoever pastors and Kenneth's wife.  She and her ministry, Apostle E. Chitheka Ministries, found a way to provide as much relief to the desperate victims as they were able to. Her text to Lindy at the beginning: "This morning, we will be cherishing the cyclone Freddy victims by feeding them and giving them some items people have contributed. We had a crusade after sharing, we lead them to receive Jesus christ as their savior."

From Enesia:
On Saturday we travelled to Mpasa in Phalombe district where we gathered with our fellow citizens who were affected by the Cyclone that hit our nation in the past weeks.

Among the relief items, we had some clothing and bedding items, The word of God encourages us to care for our neighbors as much as we love ourselves especially in the moment of their Greatest need. It is by our love for one another that we are known as the disciples of Christ.

It was such an eventful day as we even had time to fellowship with our brothers and sisters through the sharing of the word of God and eating together.

On behalf of them, I say thank you to all who took part and sent us relief items and cash to support the affected people, God bless you.
