ARUBA
January 2008
Aruba is a beautiful vacation island and a joy to visit. I was sent there to view it from a different perspective. How will it prepare for the coming of the Lord?
I often chuckle at the things I have said over the years that now are areas of “Ministry”. Flying over islands one time I asked the Lord “who will reach these people?” So I shouldn’t be surprised when He calls!
In a service at our Mozambique Mission Base in November 2007, I felt the Lord was saying two separate words, “arthritis”, then “aruba”. Recognizing the first word, I called it out, prayed for the Lord to heal the woman who came forward. Next day she brought a good report. I had to check out the word “aruba”. Danny informed me that it is an island off Venezuela. As he spoke I remembered the Lord had mentioned it earlier in the year. Then when I arrived in Raleigh, Judy, who knew nothing about this, presented me with the Aruba national flag. She had just been on holiday there and on the plane going there Judy told John that she felt she should buy a flag for Lindy.
Danny and I had a lot going on, admin and prep for the 2008 journeys and the massive expansion of the Wheresoever Ministries work in Mozambique. I sensed the date was January, assumed 2009. I realized the Lord was saying NOW. As usual, against our natural minds, the four days in Aruba were slotted in and we excitedly prepared for what God had in mind. Oh how I get teased when those “lovely” places get brought up. The Wheresoever Board members just smiled and said I probably wouldn’t even get on the sand – too true, I didn’t.
These I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” Isa. 56:7
